Why We Made This
White florals had a reputation problem for a long time — too formal, too grown-up, the smell of a bouquet at a function rather than something you'd choose. What fixed it was putting something edible and dark underneath: cocoa, coffee, tonka, praline. Suddenly tuberose wasn't decorative, it was nocturnal. We wanted that contrast done properly, with the bitterness left in — coffee and cocoa are bitter notes, and the moment you sweeten them away the whole thing collapses into dessert. So we built it at twenty percent, kept the edges, and put it in ten millilitres, because tuberose is the last note on earth anyone should buy a hundred millilitres of untested.

How is this different from After Midnight?
Fair question, since both are sweet evening scents. After Midnight is a sweet amber — apple, cinnamon and a vanilla-tonka drydown, warm and smooth with no floral to speak of. After Dark is a floral gourmand — a big tuberose and jasmine heart is the main event, with cocoa and coffee giving it a dark, faintly bitter base. If you want warmth and comfort, After Midnight. If you want flowers with an edge, this one. After Dark is the louder and more divisive of the two, deliberately.
Is tuberose going to be too much for me?
Possibly, and it's worth knowing before you buy. Tuberose is one of the biggest, most opinion-splitting materials in perfumery — creamy, heady, almost mentholated at the edges, and it does not do quiet. Here it's balanced by cocoa and almond rather than left bare, which softens it considerably. But if you've disliked tuberose before, this won't convert you, and we'd rather say so than take the $9.35.
What does 20% concentration actually mean?
It's the proportion of fragrance oil to alcohol. As a rough industry guide: eau de toilette runs about 5–15%, eau de parfum about 15–20%, extrait de parfum 20% and above. At 20%, After Dark sits right where eau de parfum ends and extrait begins — which is why two sprays is enough, and why the cocoa-tonka base is still readable hours in rather than a memory.
Can men wear it?
