Every version of this I've owned faded fast. Why would yours be different?
Because the fading is mostly a concentration problem, not a formula problem. Fragrances in this style are very often sold as colognes or light eaux — the low end of the concentration scale — and a crisp fruity floral has small, volatile molecules that leave quickly without something heavy underneath. Two things fix it: more oil, and a proper base. This is 20% with patchouli, amber and musk beneath the florals, which is why six to eight hours on skin is realistic here where two or three would be normal for the genre.
Is freesia a real ingredient?
Not extractable, no — and it's worth being straight about. Freesia flowers yield essentially no usable oil, so every freesia in perfumery is a reconstruction: perfumers build the impression from other materials. That's true of lily of the valley, lilac and peony too. It isn't a shortcut or a cheat; it's simply how those florals exist in fragrance at all. What it does mean is that the quality of a freesia depends entirely on how well it's composed, which is where cheap versions go thin and soapy.

The first fix is concentration: eau de cologne sits at roughly 2–5% fragrance oil, eau de toilette at 5–15%, eau de parfum at 15–20%, and extrait at 20% and above.
